We are called to leave this land healthier and happier for future generations through dedicated sustainability in our vineyard and wine making practices. With practices such as conscientious water management, integrating native plants, and rotating cover crop, the vineyards thrive with life and become a home to the local flora and fauna. As you walk through our vineyards you will hear the rustle of the old oaks lining the property and the buzzing of the bees collecting pollen from our cover crop.
After over 100 years of farming the Clarksburg region, we have seen first-hand that great wine begins in a sustainable vineyard. With each year we gain more knowledge of our land, the vines, and the unique characteristics of the wine they produce. We strive to make the vineyards better through research and sustainability certification with Protected Harvest to produce the best wine in California
To enhance our sustainability practices we have built a lasting partnership with the Wildlife Case Association of Sacramento and provide habitat for rehabilitated owls. If you are lucky enough to be there in the last moments before sunset, you may even see an owl flying low to the ground looking for dinner to feed her young owlets or snuggled safe and cozy in an owl box lining the vineyard.
We are planning for the future and are committed to sustainability and to farming 100% herbicide free.
