2023 Artisan Series Label Competition

One artist’s work will be selected to be featured on the label of Heringer Estates 2023 Artisan Series Limited Edition wine release. 

Artists from all backgrounds and experience are encouraged to submit entries that are representative of their artistic style and unique perspective, with inspiration from the theme of the year.

2023 Theme: “Family”

 The embrace of a loved one and the comfort of a home cooked meal, family connections are the supportive root that holds us firmly planted in our foundation and allows us to find our way towards the light.
 

Deadline for submissions: January 20, 2023

Winner will be announced and contacted in March 2023

The wine will be made available for sale to the public and the winning artist will be celebrated beginning in October 2023.

This competition is free to participate and open to all artists who are 21 years or older and reside in any of the following states:

Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington, Washington D.C., Wyoming

• Art must relate to the yearly theme.
• Each artist may submit a maximum of three (3) works.
• Artwork must be ORIGINAL and completed within the last five years.
• Acceptable media are two-dimensional works of: oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, colored pencil, photography, pen and ink, charcoal, and mixed media. No sculptures or reproductions.
• Prohibited artwork: Any work executed in a class or under the instruction of an instructor; copies of paintings or published photos; and improper subject matter.
• The 2023 release will be a dry red wine in a 750ml and 1.5L dark bottle. The background color of the label and the capsule color will be determined to complement the art and bottle.
• The final reproduced Artwork on front label will be approximately 3.4 x 4” and may be a cropped portion from the original.  Portrait orientation is best.   

The artist of the winning artwork will give exclusive rights to Heringer Estates and will not use the work for any future marketing collaborations with additional businesses.  The winning artist will be able to keep and sell the original artwork as well as use the work for their own marketing.

 Additionally:

• Artist’s name and artwork will have the honor of being featured on the label of the 2023 Artisan Series Limited Edition  Wine at Heringer Estates.
• Artist and winning artwork will be recognized on the Heringer Estates website and social media (with link to artist website if available).
• S/he will receive one case of the 2023 Artisan Series wine and $500 for the use of and exclusive rights to the winning artwork!

The art work will be selected by a winery committee. 

The winning artist will be notified by March 1, 2023.

All entries must be submitted in one email with attachments including the following:

• 1 to 3 digital images of works for submission
• Completed Entry Form and Agreement 
• Artist Bio

Digital Image Guide:

• Artwork must be photographed without mats or frames.
• Each digital file name must be the artist’s full name and entry designation.
  • Example: John Smith_A.jpg, John Smith_B.jpg
• Images must be high-resolution jpeg files.
  • 1020 x 1200 pixels at press resolution
  • Portrait orientation is best.

All entries must be emailed in a single email with attachments to Heringer Estates’ Creative Director, Cara Gregor, at cara@heringerestates.com before midnight on January 20, 2023.
