Wine Winners of 2020!
Every January Heringer Estates eagerly awaits for the results of the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. This North American wine competition is the biggest competition for wines this side of the Atlantic and awards wines based on varietal character, structure, and over all class of wine. With those standards there is no surprise Heringer Estates is among the list of wine winners.
Double Gold, Gold, and Best of Class
2020 has been full of wine winners thus far with three Double Gold Medals, a Gold Medal, Best of Class, and many Silver medals. Read more about some of our San Francisco Chronicle Award winners below.
2016 Cabernet Sauvignon – Double Gold
Rich, bold, and with a lingering finish the Cabernet Sauvignon is a fairly new kid on the Heringer vineyard block. The 2016 vintage was aged for 24 months in neutral French and American oak barrels giving the wine a touch of oak and grand aromas. With your first sip enjoy a dance of cherry, blackberry, and cranberry flavors. Then, with a lovely balance, the wine coats your tongue like warm chocolate and finishes medium and dry.

2016 Barbera – Double Gold
This delightful medium bodied Italian red is well deserving of a Double Gold. With oak essence and a lingering finish the 2016 Barbera has been aged for 24 months in French and American oak. An excellent campfire wine or special treat. Enjoy aromas and flavors of leather, tobacco, black cherry, currant, and fig. A glass of this Barbera will remind you of wonderful times with true friends and outdoor adventures.

2014 Teroldego – Double Gold
If you have not tried the Teroldego this vintage is the year to try! Teroldego has been a staple of the Heringer vineyards with beautiful grape clusters on the vines and strong structure in the bottle. Heringer Estates 2014 Teroldego is an earthy wine that expresses brighter characteristics of blueberry, plum, vanilla, and boysenberry. Like a long summer day, the 2014 Teroldego is smooth, approachable, and will linger into the evening hours.
