A very hectic and busy spring is now but a reflection in the mirror as we move into summer operations in the vineyards. Tying and training on two newly established vineyards that Stephen and Michael are tending is the order of the day during this time of year. Work on established vineyards is slowing to wire moving, shoot tucking and soon, cluster thinning. The new vineyards need to have cordons trained down the trellis wire which as an extremely labor and time intensive operation, but one integral to the proper formation of the foundation and structure of the vine.
